With ASSISTANCE!!!</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">I moved house back in the November of 2016. And, late this week, we managed to cut down the boxes I have left to unpack, by 7 or 8!!!</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">These were bought into me basically, and they were also easy targets, alcohol!!! Now, wines were basically thrown, as were spirits that were open, and beer!!! I am not a beer drinker really, especially XXXX that Queenslanders seem to like, so they were also thrown down the sink!!!</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">Once sorted, and photographed haha, they were then put into the China Cabinet and set aside now for consumption in the comoing weeks or months (year?) haha</p>

What have I done!!!</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">I was up a laddrer, dead-heading the climbing Roses clambering over the arbor over the outdoor dining area, and with a few canes left to tie back, it started to rain... And yeah, rain up a ladder that shiny aluminium, aren't a good combination I found out!!!</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">As I started to climb down, I slipped off the middle (theres only thee) step, and started my rapid descent, I tried to brace mt fall on the outside dining table (hurt my left thumb in the process), and finally landed on the paving on my right buttock... This did my bad back absolutely NO favours at all, and arranged a GP visit for Tuesday as it was the earliest I could get in...</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrM3zzz0thSw2O5X6hBAxCjca2dRJVqPYMw-T6S8KyokBqFdn3GQbh18uiA4tvqKCYAIeYTtXekzgkyn89QGFZ681gTOJFgNm0WEBr9M9_3Y-KiC1WmJa-ZM4i5eVNePSQQTyVlBo878jnXbwiHIN1TabBUEndDp3b4nmxLZ3nfUTEZH6_pYgiJ6U2kJ4/s4032/IMG_0824.HEIC" style="display: block; padding: 1em 0; text-align: center; "><img alt="" border="0" width="600" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrM3zzz0thSw2O5X6hBAxCjca2dRJVqPYMw-T6S8KyokBqFdn3GQbh18uiA4tvqKCYAIeYTtXekzgkyn89QGFZ681gTOJFgNm0WEBr9M9_3Y-KiC1WmJa-ZM4i5eVNePSQQTyVlBo878jnXbwiHIN1TabBUEndDp3b4nmxLZ3nfUTEZH6_pYgiJ6U2kJ4/s600/IMG_0824.HEIC"/></a></div></p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">Anyway, at the Doctors, she asked all the normal things about the fall and injury, gave me some pain relief and then asked to have a look at the Blood Pressure. Well, she was, as I was too, HORRIFIED at the level!! She asked if she could retake it, and I wasn't about to say no, and the second reading was WORSE!!! And whilst it will always rise with pain, the levels were just shocking. So a change in pain relief to something else, and the prescription for BP management, and I was off on my way again...</p>

I went out for dinner on Friday directly after work, and it ended up being a late night! Italian was great, with Garlic Prawn - Shelled king prawns, sautéed in cherry tomatoes, garlic and chilli. Served with wood-fired bread, as an entree we shared, and I ordered the Bufala e Gamberi - Buffalo mozzarella & basil topped with prawns and chilli, whilst my mate had the Campagnola - Italian Meat Lovers – ham, salami, sausage and fior di latte cheese!! (we also may have shared there too....) We also finished off with the standard coffee over a chat with a sleeping doggo on the next table!...</p>

<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">Saturday, whilst I went in to do a brief spot to see a mate up from Melbourne, I only stayed a little while, and headed back home to do some housework and stuff; all boring really!!!! Another day, another doggo though!!!</p>

<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">However, today I managed to achieve a lot of things. The half wine barrels with the roses growing over the arbor, I ripped out the Petunias that didn't survive my trip away, with some new trays of flowers to grow, and I also managed to install a security camera system!! Quite proud of that really!!! And finally, ordered some new things online shopping wise, nothing exciting just some new swimmers!! haha</p>

<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">It was, on the most part, a pretty good day as most of the hype I had heard, wasn't on today, but in the late afternoon, yeah there was a bit of critical thinking needed, and QUICKLY!</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">We had a driver up north, who would've missed 2 ccritical pickups, but a bit or work, re-routing included, ensured these times were all met... I am yet to see if it all worked out though, but I suspect all is good as I had no calls after I left work!!</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">ONE more day tomorrow, and hopefully a relatively good day ahead!!! And then out to dinner with a mate, standard thing really!!!</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">Whats your plans for the weekend?? I just have some editing of photos to get through really, nothing too much!</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">Hoo roo for now...</p>

<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">Whillst I didn't have a full load of fuel to get me home, I pushed through to Ulmarra near Grafton, which is like a sleepy little village, and 'old school' servo, and the best Bacon & Egg on toast sandwich!!!! And the river view I had it with a Mocha, was great!!</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8taBkIr0njjAYvwCndDAh0Br5wJPlVmVZHnzXx2_PHOv5-fTIQgW_a5g6HdKCqIAjHPzSfi7NOCFkJC5QjuqLIixk1L3_vAgiVe6jULxhBWU0fBZoT2PSFZAHrAf3gSPcASOfwmT4OvsgupHLCR7vPF8c7O6REmX3CKej05ZHuMEYu8dpyHCeVxaGV1Y/s4032/IMG_0686.HEIC" style="display: block; padding: 1em 0; text-align: center; "><img alt="" border="0" height="600" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8taBkIr0njjAYvwCndDAh0Br5wJPlVmVZHnzXx2_PHOv5-fTIQgW_a5g6HdKCqIAjHPzSfi7NOCFkJC5QjuqLIixk1L3_vAgiVe6jULxhBWU0fBZoT2PSFZAHrAf3gSPcASOfwmT4OvsgupHLCR7vPF8c7O6REmX3CKej05ZHuMEYu8dpyHCeVxaGV1Y/s600/IMG_0686.HEIC"/></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjS6V6ncP-2YXDu1NHsZO3pI9xq6XCcgpcnhYeQAZjpxTeRigbjB6zUZRJ4oX0aN0i6Npih8iLHfjD5Z4vorhlZVtIXGtxQRQobkIGlmRQZ4ZUB001asZ5MqEV4gNA_sTgvcbkHZZoQfugr7wlarx6OkVEZh1xV3J9UwfIG8VCgOHrYi2A103LkfkV80-A/s4032/IMG_0688.HEIC" style="display: block; padding: 1em 0; text-align: center; "><img alt="" border="0" width="600" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjS6V6ncP-2YXDu1NHsZO3pI9xq6XCcgpcnhYeQAZjpxTeRigbjB6zUZRJ4oX0aN0i6Npih8iLHfjD5Z4vorhlZVtIXGtxQRQobkIGlmRQZ4ZUB001asZ5MqEV4gNA_sTgvcbkHZZoQfugr7wlarx6OkVEZh1xV3J9UwfIG8VCgOHrYi2A103LkfkV80-A/s600/IMG_0688.HEIC"/></a></div></p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">Aside from that, 920km, 9hr 30min of driving, with a secondary stop at another servo on the motorway at Port Macquarie. From here, I had a car with me all the way down to Newcastle, would sit on my ass, I would naturally pull to the left lane and it would pass.... Then, it would pull to the left in front of me and then slow down!!! My Fortuner has adaptive speed cruise control, and this did my head in as I was just losing distance and time, so I simply, after about 4-5 times, stayed in the inside lane, and them on my tail!!!! Oh, and check out the windsock on the Mooney Mooney Bridge!!!!</p>

The road between Sydney and Brisbane (and even Sydney and Melbourne) is quite an easy drive actually, and very pleasant as well with lots to stop at along the way!</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">Today was spent with preakfast with a mate, I forgot to save the pic of my 'Chili Scrambled Eggs, but yesterday I had breakfast with another mate, and there I had the 'Black Forest Crepes' which was devine, and he the 'Scotched Egg' with bacon!!!</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMI2tUwRuPp0iLeGR5bUenC07F-oBLCFhaFhAzmlm5mtw80B19ofQ_3H5yyjfhuUg_9TemO0mgqXwmHsy8v45-lYgmFPNfFSFbiU-wP90iuA2Jrveb5FyUMHm1pDPukPDOnVOyIgq31oDTa0yT5x-ALA3s5KzI7QdK-gF1tC-eM_2UZKzsGXtDx0KJINo/s2198/IMG_0627.JPG" style="display: block; padding: 1em 0; text-align: center; "><img alt="" border="0" height="600" data-original-height="2198" data-original-width="1242" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMI2tUwRuPp0iLeGR5bUenC07F-oBLCFhaFhAzmlm5mtw80B19ofQ_3H5yyjfhuUg_9TemO0mgqXwmHsy8v45-lYgmFPNfFSFbiU-wP90iuA2Jrveb5FyUMHm1pDPukPDOnVOyIgq31oDTa0yT5x-ALA3s5KzI7QdK-gF1tC-eM_2UZKzsGXtDx0KJINo/s600/IMG_0627.JPG"/></a></div></p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">The weather hadn't eased up at all until late this afternoon when it receeded to light showers, and finally stopping about 1730 or so. I went and tended to my mates pool whilst he is also away, and reported via pics as to whats happened; he was very pleased and grateful!!!</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">Meanwhile, John and Murrays furkids have been mischevous with Month being my constant shadow (even to the shower) whilst Oscar has been getting into all sorts of places, one of which I don't think he would be allowed to be atop of the wine fridge!!!! They have been great to also look after this past week!!!</p>

<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">So, Thursday it is back to work day, not sure what I will be going back to, so that will no doubt be fun, and interesting at the same time!! I am hoping to be able to get back into a regiem of gym and swimming before work as well every day, as I seek to get back to a healthy lifestyle and lose some weight!!!</p>

Lets hope I can do this!!!</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">I am currently up in Brisbane on a 'short break', as work went to a partial shutdown; I am also grateful for the break too I might add!</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">I drove up on Boxing Day, probably the worst possible day to travel? NO! I left nice and early at 0400, and the 940km journey took just on 9hrs. I went straight to my friends place in Brisbane, and given the recent storms, over to another friends to discharge some of the pool water given the storms. I have done this now twice!</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">The South East Queensland has been hit with severe storms, and on the Gold Coast, even a tornado!! The humidity has also been HIGH on average on a daily basis, upwards of 85%, which is not ideal!</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">I have managed to do some plane spotting, visit some friends, have more than enough coffee as well, however today, has been a ''day at home' with it raining all day! The Gold Coast alone has had in excess of 500mm!!</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAnjiKV4wAhpn52qd6lzkY9adZfVXCiBJoe3mjOVSs9iefxSnK5ZX1FyEOqaE8TwKiPxUzURkBmXtRfch1Di6vTDu-QR6PTBE0X4pVpmSmOUaKguhoI76NR9NRydfC3SMf9CNuGX8EcUXlhwIDAeaN7zUAb58UwB3Qwgqtoq9wF2CweIJ9yhyv7vXelnI/s1130/Screenshot%202024-01-01%20at%207.37.21%E2%80%AFpm.png" style="display: block; padding: 1em 0; text-align: center; "><img alt="" border="0" height="400" data-original-height="1130" data-original-width="1032" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAnjiKV4wAhpn52qd6lzkY9adZfVXCiBJoe3mjOVSs9iefxSnK5ZX1FyEOqaE8TwKiPxUzURkBmXtRfch1Di6vTDu-QR6PTBE0X4pVpmSmOUaKguhoI76NR9NRydfC3SMf9CNuGX8EcUXlhwIDAeaN7zUAb58UwB3Qwgqtoq9wF2CweIJ9yhyv7vXelnI/s400/Screenshot%202024-01-01%20at%207.37.21%E2%80%AFpm.png"/></a></div></p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">Wishing you all a Happy New Year, and all of the very best for 2024!!!!</p>

<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">The drive back to Brisbane was a bit hairy, but ok in the end.... I went past the University of Queensland Research lots at Gaton, and the storm to the north was building... Dinner was excellent at the 'Satay Ria' Malaysian, and I finally got to meet a mates wife, who I think was up to about the 15 or 20th revision on getting her here to Australia !!! 😂😂😂</p>

<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">I got out of the house early so I wasn't annying my host (working a conference from home) so stopped at the Brisbane Airport spotting location known as 'The Acacia St Loop', and literally spotted one movement (everything was heading out to their new parallel runway... Regional Express have recently started using the B737, yet to fly them though!</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: center"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/berniep/51900223963/in/dateposted/" title="VH-RYU ZL B738 01R YBBN-6393"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51900223963_d21c7bc908_z.jpg" width="640" height="427" alt="VH-RYU ZL B738 01R YBBN-6393"></a><script async src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">Went up to the nearby DFO, and found a mate to have lunch with and talk train photography, mainly! WAs good to catch up. Afterwards, he checked out my car, and then I went shopping to grab some new shirts!</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">Dinner tonight was at the 'Kafe Meze Stones Corner' with a group of friends of J&M; to which I have become friends with. Its a regular Wednesday night catch-up for the guys with a different host selecting the style of restaurant to go to!!</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">There was a mixed 'Dips with Pita Bread' (no photo), but they were delicious, and for the main, I selected the Prawn Saganaki with Pita, and an additional Paidakia (Lamb Cutlet), and it was AMAZING!!</p>

<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">It was an easy as 60 minute drive south, and although theres is some roadworks along the way, we landed at a place for some quick car pics. HOWEVER, the spot, was backlit and not really good for photography, so I adapted. I ended up taking 17 images (YES, 17!!) of various exposure incriments to pull out some of the shaded areas (otherwise black) and stop the highlights blowing the image, and then using Adobe Lightroom to layer them all together... I knew in my head what was needed, but with me relatively new Canon 5Div, I hadnt used these settings/process before!! I was 'winging it'!!</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">I was pretty stoked in the end result!!!</p>

<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">After a very quick knee-deep poke around in the beach; it was closed due to RIP's, and 'Red Flagged', so I stayed safe, I headed back 'home' and a quiet night.</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">The next couple of days aren't looking to pretty, lots of rain (c. 120mm tomorrow alone) with the warnings already set out, with a severe weather warning being in place in Queensland for the Wide Bay, Burnett, Darling Downs, and Granite Belt forecast districts. <p style="TEXT-ALIGN: center"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/berniep/51895289435/in/dateposted/" title="THE KELSEY BRUNCH-0664"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51895289435_9539e2a86f_z.jpg" width="360" height="640" alt="THE KELSEY BRUNCH-0664"></a><script async src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">After that, and dropping John back home, I grabbed my <a href="https://budgysmuggler.com.au" target="_blank">Budgy Smugglers</a> and headed north for a swim; or so I thought! Was recomendeed that Sandgate was good, but with the rock groins along the beach to keep it stabalised having a fisherman casting, I wasnt about to hop in for a swim and get hooked!! So, I stopped at the nearby hertiage listed <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hornibrook_Bridge" target="_blank">Hornibrook Bridge</a>! It looks magnificant however, I have no idea what the bronze draw thing is in the southern abutment!!</p>

<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">After this, I then headed into Redcliffe to visit the '<a href="https://www.visitmoretonbayregion.com.au/natural-attractions/bee-gees-way-redcliffe" target="_blank">Bee Gees Way</a>', a tribute to the bands legacy, Bee Gees Way is a 70-metre walkway in Redcliffe, free to see every day and night, celebrating the illustrious career of the band. The Moreton Bay Region is the home of the Bee Gees, a group whose tunes have been heard all over the world, having sold more than 200 million records.</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">Every night from 7 pm to 9.30 pm, visitors witness light shows set to the Bee Gees’ greatest hits, such as “Stayin’ Alive”, “How Deep Is Your Love”, and “Night Fever”. (I SHOULD have stayed for this, next time!!)</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">Bee Gees Way was developed in collaboration with Barry Gibb. It features life-size statues of Barry, Robin, and Maurice Gibb. Be sure to snap a shot with both of the statues. #BeeGeesWay</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">Bee Gees Way hosts more than 60 captioned photographs, 13 album covers, personal stories and reflections and a 70-metre mural featuring the artwork of the Gibb brothers. It also has a giant 5.3 square metre video screen playing exclusive interviews with Barry Gibb and never before seen home movie footage, along with Bee Gees songs.</p>

<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">I am staying with my dear friends, John and Murray here in Brisbane, oh and I can't forget about 15 week old 'Montgomery' (Monty for short) who is a Malshi!! Now, whilst I am a 'large breed' dog person, this little 'Fluff Ball' is super cute, just not my 'cuppa tea' haha</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: center"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/berniep/51893531381/in/photostream/" title="MONTGOMERY-0633"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51893531381_468cece1d3_z.jpg" width="480" height="640" alt="MONTGOMERY-0633"></a><script async src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: center"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/berniep/51893531456/in/dateposted/" title="MONTGOMERY-0632"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51893531456_c4f45bee8d_z.jpg" width="480" height="640" alt="MONTGOMERY-0632"></a><script async src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">We also had a 'brunch meeting' with J&M's friend (mine too of course) PS at a lovely little cafe called 'The Kelsey' in Coorparoo (<a href="https://www.facebook.com/kelseycoorparoo/" target="_blank">Facebook</a> / <a href="https://www.instagram.com/thekelseycafe/" target="_blank">Instagram</a>) John and I had some 'Waffle Fries', whilst the boys shared a Salmon Benedict! I also had a Mocha</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: center"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/berniep/51893531266/in/photostream/" title="WAFFLE FRIES - THE KELSEY-0634"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51893531266_e6a33a657b_z.jpg" width="480" height="640" alt="WAFFLE FRIES - THE KELSEY-0634"></a><script async src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">As I had arranged to catch up with my good mate and his girlfriend Josh and Claudia, I made my way to checkout the planespotting location at Brisbane Airport known as 'The Loop' on my way; second time for 'Tuna' to be here. Nothing has changed, but at least the grass was somewhat cut to just ankle level (as opposed to my hip last time I was up)!! haha </p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: center"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/berniep/51893618723/in/photostream/" title="TUNA YBBN-0635"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51893618723_389cae242a_z.jpg" width="348" height="640" alt="TUNA YBBN-0635"></a><script async src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">Josh once lived with me in Sydney, hes a Brisbane bloke after all, and hes a great mate. He now works as a 'Content Creator' for '<a href="https://www.youtube.com/c/4WD247" target="_blank">4WD 24/7</a>', and I am so happy and proud for where he is today! They are about to embark on a 6 month trip around Australia; so jealous hey!!! (I also HATE taking selfies just an an FYI...)</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: center"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/berniep/51893531341/in/photostream/" title="SCHOEY AND CLAUDIA-0637"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51893531341_b1d84bfaab_z.jpg" width="640" height="348" alt="SCHOEY AND CLAUDIA-0637"></a><script async src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: center"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/berniep/51893618758/in/photostream/" title="SCHOEY AND CLAUDIA-0639"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51893618758_cd18afafd2_z.jpg" width="640" height="348" alt="SCHOEY AND CLAUDIA-0639"></a><script async src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">Tomorrow we have another 'Brunch Meeting' (most likely at 'The Kelsey'?) and then John has some work, so I am going to go and find a beach somewhere and have a swim!!!!</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">Hoo roo for now...</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">------</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><img style="BORDER-BOTTOM: 0px; BORDER-LEFT: 0px; BACKGROUND: none transparent scroll repeat 0% 0%; BORDER-TOP: 0px; BORDER-RIGHT: 0px" border="0" src="https://signatures.mylivesignature.com/85704/burntofferings/e64bdbcb1c0636a2893022e433f01cd2.png"></p>Berniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05929225891685150295noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7532337946977865304.post-74777126886671347372022-02-19T23:59:00.002+11:002022-02-20T15:07:17.168+11:002022 Roadtrip through Central Queensland<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">So, throughout this pandemic, I have not had a chance of leave, and I am finally taking three weeks off, and touring for a break, and to get out of Sydney!!! I will be heading up to Brisbane (staying with friends), out to Toowoomba to see a mate for lunch, afternoon tea at Harli with another friend, before a weekend on the Sunshine Coast. Up to Rockhampton for a nights stay, through to Longreach (via Emerald and Clermont) where I will visit the <a href="https://qfom.com.au" target="_blank">Qantas Founders Museum</a>; so excieted!! All of this is confirmed!</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: center"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/berniep/51891078492/in/dateposted/" title="ROADTRIP FEB-MAR 2022"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51891078492_c1383fb8dd_z.jpg" width="640" height="597" alt="ROADTRIP FEB-MAR 2022"></a><script async src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">After this, I will become somewhat 'fluid' and stop where I stop, drive where I drive, but for NOW, via Quilpie and Bourke before home!!!</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">So, I left in the wee hours of Saturday morning, I may, or may not, have had to return home after leaving Sydney, but oh well... </p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: center"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/berniep/51892037351/in/dateposted/" title="ROADTRIP SYD-BNE-0581"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51892037351_dd5f29f854_z.jpg" width="640" height="348" alt="ROADTRIP SYD-BNE-0581"></a><script async src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: center"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/berniep/51892376709/in/photostream/" title="ROADTRIP SYD-BNE-0586"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51892376709_300523082b_z.jpg" width="640" height="384" alt="ROADTRIP SYD-BNE-0586"></a><script async src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">Now my first stop was to visit my old mate Frank who passed away 18 months or so back. He is at a cemetary along side a beautiful lake and waterfall; sadly not flowing when I went past...</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: center"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/berniep/51892376699/in/photostream/" title="ROADTRIP SYD-BNE-0587"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51892376699_4ab161d775_z.jpg" width="640" height="348" alt="ROADTRIP SYD-BNE-0587"></a><script async src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: center"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/berniep/51892037286/in/photostream/" title="ROADTRIP SYD-BNE-0590"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51892037286_494509a340_z.jpg" width="640" height="360" alt="ROADTRIP SYD-BNE-0590"></a><script async src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">Along the road into the cemetary, is an avenue of Bunya Pines (Araucaria bidwillii), with a sign warning about the nuts The cones are 20–35 cm (7.9–13.8 in) in diameter, and can weigh as much as 18 kg (40 lb)[11] and are opened by large birds, such as cockatoos, or disintegrate when mature to release the large 3–4 cm (1.2–1.6 in) seeds or nuts. </p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: center"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/berniep/51892376629/in/photostream/" title="ROADTRIP SYD-BNE-0591"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51892376629_12cbc0a2e0_z.jpg" width="640" height="348" alt="ROADTRIP SYD-BNE-0591"></a><script async src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: center"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/berniep/51892376584/in/photostream/" title="ROADTRIP SYD-BNE-0592"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51892376584_b01a826b25_z.jpg" width="640" height="348" alt="ROADTRIP SYD-BNE-0592"></a><script async src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">From here I pushed north, through Port Macquarie, Cofffs Harbour, and did whats often said on long trips, 'Stop, Revive, Survive'!!!</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: center"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/berniep/51892376534/in/photostream/" title="ROADTRIP SYD-BNE-0599"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51892376534_0d9ee5357b_z.jpg" width="640" height="348" alt="ROADTRIP SYD-BNE-0599"></a><script async src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">The drive up was, largely, uneventful aside from a rather intense, but short, storm at about the Byrone Bay area or so, where I was reduced to about 60km/h (from 110km/h), and upon arrival, and after a VERY hot shower, I had a Roast Pork and veges, with a delicious crackling!!!!!</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">Stay tuned - more to come, but I am in Brisbane for the next 6 days!!</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">I have been working a LOT lately, and I mean a lot.... This week has been 42hrs, whilst last week, 54hrs including 9.5hrs on Christmas Day!!! Today was also day 13 worked of 13, and tomorrow is my one and only day off in three weeks, so I am hoping to spend the day resting up before another hectic day at work!!!</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Working in the pathology sector, as you could imagine is rather busy (unsure why 😂) and todays work trip took me across the Blue Mountains to Lithgow. The day was hot, hotter to the East, but a really nice drive along the 'Bells Line of Roads'. However, when I got to my location, they were closed, as were the next two at Springwood and in Glenmore Park, so it really seemed a waste of a day to be honest....</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">One of the good things about the day though was, a brief stop along 'Doctors Gap Road' in the Vale of Clywdd, and where I stopped was a small patch of interesting flowers... The area is dry, and had a great contrast with the blue sky!! I even managed to photograph a bee!!!! (iPhone photos)</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/berniep/51792250370/in/dateposted/" title="Vale of Clwydd - Lithgow-9651"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51792250370_3f459923e8_z.jpg" width="640" height="480" alt="Vale of Clwydd - Lithgow-9651"></a><script async src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Here is also the farms at the foot of the mountains, along the western side.... A lovely day really!!!</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/berniep/51791629688/in/photostream/" title="Vale of Clwydd - Lithgow-9655"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51791629688_ceef098b3d_z.jpg" width="640" height="480" alt="Vale of Clwydd - Lithgow-9655"></a><script async src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>

<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">Friday afternoon, I hired a Britex Carpet Cleaner from Woolworths. Feedback on mums house was that the carpets needed a clean and was putting off buyers. So, and the 'Sparrows Fart' I drove out to mums and got stuck into it.... And, they came up a treat! I thought that two rooms MAY have needed a second going over, but when I went back later in the day, they looked fine...</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">However, after lunch, I did my HUGE lounge room rug, one that was given to us by L's parents when we moved to Merrylands in 2005!! It was found on a 'Council Cleanup' and was used in the garden for L's 21st birthday!! L would be 50 now, so its an oldie, and pure wool as well!!! Now, I have been wanting to clean this rug since I moved here in 2016, thats almost 4 years now!!!! You can only imagine the colour of the water coming out of the machine!! <i>(Thank GOD for some Endone in the reserve medication cabinet...)</i></p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: center"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/berniep/49877615506/in/dateposted/" title="RUG-5525"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49877615506_7ebe639097_z.jpg" width="480" height="640" alt="RUG-5525"></a><script async src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">So, after a HORRIBLE nights sleep of waking up every 2 hours, a hot shower at 0230, I gave up at about 0700 of any more sleep, and (slowly) got myself ready and drove to L's grave with some flowers, Sunflowers... I had 3, one each for L, and for each twin... <i>The Chrysanthemum's and Gerbera's were for mum and home!</i></p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: center"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/berniep/49877920647/in/photostream/" title="MOTHERS DAY-1700"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49877920647_2aa7513f0f_z.jpg" width="480" height="640" alt="MOTHERS DAY-1700"></a><script async src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">And on my way home, I then stopped in at Pinegrove, where I was reasonably lucky, as it wasn't TOO busy; just yet. Mums name plate/plaque had been installed recently... I later found out, from a mate coming to help put lounges back on the rug, that when he drove past, the line to get in was nearly 1km long!!!! So I am glad I did my visits early!!!!</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: center"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/berniep/49877078088/in/photostream/" title="MOTHERS DAY-2783"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49877078088_8150da8706_z.jpg" width="480" height="640" alt="MOTHERS DAY-2783"></a><script async src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">And, after all of this, including resting my back, this afternoon I called J the MIL, and had a chat with her, its a shame that we couldn't get together today with this Coronavirus (COVID-19) restrictions, but as of next week, some of the lockdown restrictions will be lifted, so maybe a belated day together....</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">So I hope you all had a great Mothers Day, or are about to HAVE the best Mothers Day pending on where you live...
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">Hoo roo for now...</p>

Its a nice spot, and I visit just near The Spit Bridge.</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">But today, this stop was not required, and I had a little bit of extra time up my sleeve, so I ventured to somewhere more familiar, my old work at The Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney. More over, Mrs Macquaries Chair, which has spectacular views of both the Sydney Harbour Bridge and The Opera House! I managed to get here just on sunrise this morning, and there was some glorious light; I just wished I had my actual camera instead of my trusty, if not old, iPhone 7PLUS!!</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: center"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/berniep/49862454172/in/dateposted/" title="SYDNEY DAWN-0538"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49862454172_81e5735be9_z.jpg" width="640" height="360" alt="SYDNEY DAWN-0538"></a><script async src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">I was actually here several weeks back, and even though I was in my fully marked work car, with the engine running, an overzealous Ranger started to book my as I hadn't used the parking meter. When I got out and said I am here, and the car is running, we had a quick chat and later went on my way! haha</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">Also here, is a small garden, and a most impressive <a href="https://www.bushheritage.org.au/species/grass-trees">Xanthorrhoea</a>... Isn't she lovely with the CBD as a backdrop??</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: center"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/berniep/49862140501/in/photostream/" title="XANTHORRHOEA DAWN-0539"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49862140501_cff23ca827_z.jpg" width="480" height="640" alt="XANTHORRHOEA DAWN-0539"></a><script async src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">After that, the day got very 'boring' and routine, heading to Darlinghurst, then the Inner West before heading back to the Lab. In my drive from the Lab up to Galston however, in these times of Coronavirus (COVID-19) where at a funeral only 10 people are permitted to attend, I managed to get to see a very dear friend in Melbourne, preside over his mothers funeral in Tasmania over a live stream, and whilst I was driving, I was more listening to it as opposed to watching, as I wanted to remain safe on the road. You did a wonderful job and held it together in a very testing time DW, I know mum would be proud...</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">No time for any sort of gardening in the courtyard today though, but the beds will all get a water tomorrow, and maybe a light trim of the Vibernum screen just to keep it in check, but we will see!!!</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">Hope you've had, or have, a wonderful Wednesday!</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">Hoo roo for now...</p>

I had a bad nights sleep really, and I feel that was the catalyst for the day ahead! But I woke up before my alarm at 0430 anyway...</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">A quick shower and a shave, some breakfast whilst Bronty was outside, and I got the car ready for the work day ahead and left into the darkness and soon, rain...</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">Whilst the day itself went ok with nothing out of the ordinary happening, from Seaforth, to Darlinghurst and up to Galston and Kenthurst, before a quick stop at Lakeside Private Hospital....</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: center"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/berniep/49857471138/in/dateposted/" title="SURGICAL STREAK-0523"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49857471138_19de4f96bc_z.jpg" width="360" height="640" alt="SURGICAL STREAK-0523"></a><script async src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">But, getting home this afternoon I saw that the Poppies and Alyssum's were going great guns, as are the Marigolds, Sweet Peas and Lobelia's on the side of the house, so I would give them a foliar feed! So I set about mixing it up in a 9lt watering can, and hand watering them... I can't wait for Spring to bloom!!</p>

<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">Also, this past summer, the Cyathea Tree Ferns took a bit of a hit in the sun and heat, so I have moved them both together, and into a more protected area. As such, I have several new fronds rolling out... </p>

<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">So far, in this pandemic of COVID-19, work has changed, a LOT! But for me, more fortunately, I have been filling in whilst another colleague is on leave...</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">And whilst I am grateful I still have a job, let alone a full weeks lot of work, we can't deny that through these challenging times, we are all on stress trying to work and make ends meet...</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">The view, sunrise doing my first job in Seaforth, is nothing more than a pleasure I have during this time!! How are you handling these challenging times??</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">Hoo roo for now...</p>

Next to my recycled brick paving, I have two half wine barrels which have Climbing Roses in them. I am also using these for som Spring Annuals as well.</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">So I have had in my mind, Poppies (Papaver) and some Sweet Alyssum (Lobularia maritima syn.) in the pots, these are more pastels and whites in colour, and I also added in some Crocus (Crocus spp) in a dusty purple with a darker purple vein through the petal...</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: center"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/berniep/49847731213/in/dateposted/" title="SPRING FLOWERS-5220"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49847731213_52636f3762_z.jpg" width="640" height="427" alt="SPRING FLOWERS-5220"></a><script async src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">BUT, more importantly, before planting the seedlings, I had more important things to tend to, morning tea of Chocolate Hot Cross Buns with a cuppa!!!</p>

Ok, maybe MORE than 'alright' and maybe more 'bloody fantastic!!</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">I had this idea of ingredients, prawns for protein, garlic butter sauce, and tomatoes, and then expanded it for some wine (Moscato) and basil, so I went shopping...</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: center"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/berniep/49844884738/in/dateposted/" title="Garlic Prawns with Basil, Tomato and Moscato Tomato Sauce Fettuccine"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49844884738_5d62ca59c5_z.jpg" width="640" height="640" alt="Garlic Prawns with Basil, Tomato and Moscato Tomato Sauce Fettuccine"></a><script async src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">It was a really simple and basic dish. Starting with pasta first in a pot of gentle boiling water. Then, in a seperate pot, heated a bit of oil and pepper, added the tomatoes (a mix of Sorento Cherry Tomatoes and a tub of mixed cherry tomatoes) until just softened, and beginning to breakdown. I then added the prawns and garlic butter knobs, until the butter had just melted, then adding in the satchel of tomato paste and a 1/2 cup of the wine; Moscato.</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">When the pasta was just shy of being 'Al dente', I then added the basil into the pot to wilt down, and drained the pasta. Returned the pasta to the pot it was in, and poured over the prawn dish with sauce, and stirred softly, and served it up with a glass of the wine!!</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: center"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/berniep/49845732437/in/photostream/" title="Garlic Prawns with Basil, Tomato and Moscato Tomato Sauce Fettuccine"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49845732437_d58478bcf1_z.jpg" width="640" height="640" alt="Garlic Prawns with Basil, Tomato and Moscato Tomato Sauce Fettuccine"></a><script async src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: center"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/berniep/49845426226/in/photostream/" title="Garlic Prawns with Basil, Tomato and Moscato Tomato Sauce Fettuccine"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49845426226_0f9f32d0f6_z.jpg" width="640" height="640" alt="Garlic Prawns with Basil, Tomato and Moscato Tomato Sauce Fettuccine"></a><script async src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">Next time, and there will most certainly be a next time, I will use a slightly different, less sweet wine, and maybe even add in a chilli for a bit of a kick, but I was really impressed with how it turned out!!!</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">Hoo roo for now...</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify">------</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><img style="BORDER-BOTTOM: 0px; BORDER-LEFT: 0px; BACKGROUND: none transparent scroll repeat 0% 0%; BORDER-TOP: 0px; BORDER-RIGHT: 0px" border="0" src="https://signatures.mylivesignature.com/85704/burntofferings/e64bdbcb1c0636a2893022e433f01cd2.png"></p>Berniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05929225891685150295noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7532337946977865304.post-85293284212184728992020-05-01T07:24:00.000+10:002020-05-02T07:25:34.733+10:00Ok ok - I have been MIA....<p align=”justify”>WHERE have you been I hear you ask... Well, aside from ZERO motivation, I have also been busy, I have moved house, new job, new interests etc....</p>
<p align=”justify”>But, from today, I will endeavour to start blogging more on a (hopefully) daily basis.... So here is a bit of a 'backstory' post on my courtyard...</p>
<p align=”justify”>Now that the courtyard is finished, some things I have learnt...</p>
Bronty prefers to wee on the garden bed that 'had' the prostrate form of the Casurina's near the washing line, so they have, or will, go to the great plant god in the ground...And when she does wee on the new lawn, I simply hose it in so as it doesn't 'burn'!!<br />
<p align=”justify”>I simply LOVE the lighting, the string of fairy lights light up the area nicely for a 'moody' feel, and if I want a bit more, then the chandelier comes on - either are nice alone though!!</p>
<p align=”justify”>The Canna bed may stay as a 'mono stand' of the red, time will tell as I may make it a kaleidoscope of different colours, time will tell!! haha And the climbing Roses (Pierre de Ronsard) are climbing really well, and I cant wait for next summer....</p>
