Bronty turns TWO!!!

Yesterday, Bronty turned two!! YAY?? no... She was a little bitch!! I say this in every sense of the word as well, not just because she is, well, a she!! Let me explain...

Bronty Turns 2!!
Bronty with her new toys

I stopped on my way home, to get her some new toys, some treats, and groceries for me. When I got home, she was really happy to see me, as she had been inside all day (first time)! Anyway, I let her outside for about 30 minutes or so, and when she came back in, she went to her bed whilst I mad a cuppa (coffee). Anyway, I hat a hat for her to wear, and she had this on without a problem!! BUT, she was excited for her 'cake', and in her excitement, her tail whipped of my cup from the coffee table, and flung it over towards my Macbook Pro and lounge... Yes, coffee and laptop are never a good mix. I literally SCREAMED, and she went straight to the back door, whilst I powered the laptop down. She went out, and came nowhere NEAR the back door wanting back in! I then started to clean up the mess, but guess who was getting stuck into the muffin that was to have been Bronty's birthday cake?? the bloody cat!! I was not in a good mood...

About 45 minutes later, I let her in, and she sheepishly went straight to her bed, and although I had her dinner treat ready, a meat pie, she was hesitant to come near me! She wanted to, but thought I was still angry... Poor thing, she was really excited to get her pie!

Luckily enough though, I had another muffin, and it was time for her to have her birthday cake!!

Photo a Day Challenge - Day 70 Someone You Spoke To

What a day... Luch, at La Mono, was great and we had a lovely lunch. Afterwards, we came back home for cake, which C, 'the next sister down' to L, baked the cake. And WHAT a cake it was! Here is Master J helping me blow out the candles...

Blowing out the candles...

When it came to time to leave, Master J, 2yo, decided he wanted to stay "just 4 more minutes' he was saying as he scampered off in the other direction! So I ran after him and picked him up, and on the way to the car, we had a little chat... Funny J!

Photo a Day Challenge - Day 69 Loud

Ok, whilst this subject may not be loud, I suspect that some looking at it will scream LOUD!!

Whilst today is my birthday, I was kept busy running to and fro to buntings, thanks to Miss Bronty on not one, but two accounts! The first was to replace the chords on the cafe blinds on the back patio. This was easily done, but when I got home and saw her sitting at the back door with her head through the screen, it was time to go back and get some new screen...

Photo a Day Challenge - Day 42 Inside your Closet

I had the most EXCELLENT thing planned for this post, but alas, it didn't OR wouldn't have worked given what I came home to this afternoon after the F-I-L's birthday lunch! We had a storm come through, and whilst the back verandah was mud/silt covered, the front bay window leaked (quite badly) with all of the Murano Glass getting wet and two cushions - both were works L did using x-stich and tapestry! Additionally, the window above my bed allowed water in, although it was only a very small amount on the deep window sill.

--------------------

Today, we had a birthday BBQ for the F-I-L, he turned 70! It was a wonderful day, a roast pork in the Webber, sausages on the BBQ, and salads to boot as well. there was, in typical family style, many desserts to be had; a Pavlova that S made and a three tired sponge birthday cake!!

With THAT many blowing out the candles, I might pass on some cake thanks...

A had set up a cricket pitch in the front lawn (but I suspect, it wasn't measured, but shhhhh...) and the kids all enjoyed a fun time using the hose to cool down in the summer (finally) heat and humidity!

Photo a Day Challenge - Day 22 Your Shoes

The other day, I went out shopping for a couple of new tee's... I went to Kmart and Target, but by the end of the 'quick trip', I came out with 2 x pairs of jeans; 2 x tee shirts and a new pair of shoes!!

Not bad for a quick shopping trip hey!

Happy Birthday to the other 'B' as well, as I went to his party and had a great time. It was a small interment party, but it was fun all the same...

Happy birthday to me...

This was meant to have been posted on Thursday, but for various reasons, I was unable to post it, so here it is now...

My birthday has again, come and gone... It was going to be a good day, I was sure of it! But alas, it was not... After my visit to the Dentist on Wednesday (and THAT is another story), I had discovered that the pump in the spa had to be replaced so on my way to work I stopped into the pool shop with the pump I had removed... Just after leaving the shop, my neighbour called me with some very bad news, that one of our neighbours son had died in a diving accident... My day was not going well...

Work was ok, kept me busy, but the best part of the day, was catching up with A and Miss 3.5 E for lunch! As I was walking down to their car, Miss E was SOOO excited, she was jumping up and down. When I got to her, I got THE best hug and was told, "We have something for you, but I want the blue one"! So cute! We had lunch at the 'Poolside Cafe' at the Andrew Boy Charlton Pool, which was lovely! It is amazing who you meet and what you talk about, but a random lady there, with her mother, was doing an IVF cycle, and today Saturday, she is having her transfer... I hope she has success!

It was after lunch, that the day got worse, after hearing of the sudden loss of my cousin, Rodney... He was a bit of a trouble young man, and his loss will be great, but I am sure he is now in a better place... RIP Rod!

The night though, really was the best part of the day, with being taken to dinner, La Mono of course! Jay came over home and gave me his present, little bugger had WAY TO MUCH TAPE on it and it took a while to open, but it was a great gift!

Present time

So Jay and I got there first waited for Mel to arrive after Uni... We chatted and when she arrived, with presents as well we ordered dinner... Chicken, Kafta, Shish Kebab and some chips... Of, and the Garlic Dip as well, YUMMO!! It is a great location, very relaxing, and to eat you get a bit of leb bread, smother it with garlic dip, and put on what you want (chicken, chips and a bit of kafta is great!)! And my present from Mel (and parents) consisted of various chocolates and lollies with a Gold Class movie ticket!! I also got a new bracelet (from Mel) to wear as well... Thanks guys!

But I was beginning to sense something was up... There was no dessert menu's coming out, and suddenly the lights went out... OMG, they had a cake (even though I was asked if I like chocolate)! Little buggers!

Thank you SO much guys for making my day...

I am having family over tomorrow for a Sunday BBQ, so I am sure there will be more photos from then!

26 September, 2010

Since the last post, I have been...

BUSY AS!!!!

Allow me to elaborate. Thursday, I spent most of the day with total IMBECILES! So, on Thursday night, even though I wanted to simply get trashed, I could not as on Friday, I had to do it all over again in the morning, however, the afternoon would be somewhat (a lot really) different!

I spent the afternoon on a judging panel. It was very pleasing to do this, and to see the result, but there will be more on that in the coming weeks/months.

Friday evening, I went to a mates place for dinner. He cooked a really nice piece of Steak, bacon, mashed potato's and peas with corn. I also had a drink (OK, I had TWO as I had to drive) before getting home. I had a SKYPE call to my bestie in the States, before heading off to bed to watch some TV and get some sleep.

Saturday, I was up early, so I got the mower out, and did the lawns, 2 loads of washing, weeded a garden bed where the Dranuculus is coming up (hopefully with some flowers again) and got some lunch (Hamburger with the lot, NO BEETROOT) and settled down for the AFL Grand Final. This was a great match, and for the 3rd time in VFL/AFL history, it ended in a DRAW! Saturday night, I made dinner (for my mate) of creamy sun-dried tomatoes and garlic pasta, with chicken... It was very YUMM!

Then today, again up early, so I got some more washing done, bed sheets, and gave myself a haircut; a Number 3! Then it was off to get my God-daughter her birthday present. I was wanting to get a plant/tree that has her name in it, but alas, this was not an easy task. So I ended up getting her something else. Again, her father made the cake, and this year, it was a Lady Beetle (or is it a Lady Bird?)! Happy Birthday Little B!

House sale, Voting, Driving and a Party...

The weekend was a full one... A VERY FULL on couple of days... And it all started on Friday! Let me explain!

The people who are purchasing the house, have requested a FURTHER extension to the cooling off period. This is putting me in limbo for another few days. All I want to do is sell, and move on! Anyway, they asked for Thursday, and I have given them to Wednesday. if not, the deal is off and they can start over or it is on the market again! I am NOT going to be bullied/arm wrestled into this by them!

And then came Saturday, which I spent what seemed to be the day driving around for other people's benefit! It was a very windy day, and I did get a bit done. But I wanted to get some paint and start painting... This, unfortunately, was not the case... But I did get to the shops to get my 2 x 3yo niece and nephew and my 1yo nephew their birthday presents! Oh, and yes, I also went and cast my vote in the Federal Election as well!

So, in came Sunday morning, a bright sunny day... I had another full on day starting with a catch-up with a mate (oh yeah, and a bit of plane spotting...) before heading to the birthday party! Here is 'Pinky', flying the Breast Cancer colours on a QANTAS bird!

Pinky

Then I got into the car and headed for a quick visit to Lou. As I said, it was a nice sunny day and the local wildlife was out in force. You see, Plovers are a very territorial bird and if you get to close for comfort, they 'Dive Bomb' you showing the hooks on their wings! Here is the decoy lookout whilst its partner is circling and about to bomb me!

Plover

Here is the pathway that leads to where L is. I thought, at first, I would not like the Tussock Grass when they did it, as they removed a Buxus Hedge, but I think it is growing on my (pardon the pun)!

Pathway to Lou

And finally the party... I will just leave you with some photo's... They say a picture tells a thousand words; how true it is!

It's time to sell, and start to move on... And a birthday thrown in!

After getting home, I have finally come to the conclusion... It is time to sell and (try to) move on! So yesterday, I met with TWO Real Estate agents. It is a very difficult decision to make, and one that is not made easily, but there is SO much involved with it all that I had no idea! Not just the selling of property, but how it intertwines with Estate and Probate etc! But, I think that a price I have in mind is, achievable in the current market and still a very competitive price! SO now, it is just a matter of time until the contracts are prepared and then there will be a 'For Sale' sign on the lawn!

And today, we had a party over at 'C&P' place to celebrate the first birthday of little J! When it came to the cake and presents, he was SO tired and he could barely keep his eyes open! Where as his older brother R, well he was up until 12.30am and wasn't showing ANY signs of wanting a rest!

There was the usual, way to much food, lots of sweet things and an abundance of presents! Also, I should add that Mr 5 W also had a celebration for his birthday as well, which made the presents look as thought it was Christmas in May!!! Both M & W were having a BALL, and even Miss R and her younger brother J were having a good go at the cakes icing...

The day was ALSO birthdays for O, S and there was cupcakes for them, as with both M & W... April/May is a busy time for birthdays I think!!!

The garden has suffered a bit of a beating whilst I was away, and I lost a couple of plants (Chocolate Sapotae for one), but the Passionfruits are producing like nothing else! This morning, I harvested around 50 of them, and needed quite a large bag so I could take them to the party! Also, they are SO full of flavour, and very YUMMY!

And tomorrow, it is my first day back at work, I dread to think how much work is there, but we will see how we go! I have a GP appointment in the afternoon as well, so it is going to be a full day. I hope that S will be up for the 'usual' 10am coffee!!!
