Photo a Day Challenge - Day 118 Circle

London, 2010... it may not be in 'full frame', but I had a very limited opportunity to get this shot! So I worked with what I had at the time, and I am pretty happy with the result! The idea of getting a 'silhouette' style photography appeals to me...

Photo a Day Challenge - Day 116 Somewhere you went

The other night, we went out on the town to do some night photography. We shot across to Circular Quay, the Harbout Bridge and the Opera House, all the 'usual suspect'... BUT, this is one of Luna Park, but from a slight closer, and more unusual angle...

Photo a Day Challenge - Day 114 Looking Down

ANZAC Day

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them.

Here is the view looking downs across the Great Pyramids of Egypt... I was in total AWE visiting these, and it is something I will always remember...

Photo a Day Challenge - Day 112 Vegetable

We were on the cruise leg of my trip to Angers France for the Turf Conference in 2010, and one of the meals we had onboard, we were served Vegetable Samosa's with a mango chutney as an Entree... Now, I was worried about this, but when I tasted it, it was actually very nice, curry spiced inspired, but nice all the same...

Photo a Day Challenge - Day 111 Last thing You Bought

Recently, I was asked to go to my Professors retirement, and it ended up, I was the photographer for the night. Just one problem though, I had no flash gun, so I took off and researched for a suitable one. I ended up with a Nissin brand, which did me well on the night.

Photo a Day Challenge - Day 110 Bottle

This was part of the recent 'Sculptures by the Sea' art installation, between Tamarama and Bondi Beaches in Sydney. It was quite a large bottle, almost perched somewhat precariously within a crevasse along the cliff tops...

So we're back off to Bali, and to the Ulawatu Temple to the South. At the entrance to the Temple, is a monkey forest... Here we see this hairy little fellow, and yes we can see that hes a 'he', and they are all freindly enough. The WARNING though is this, remove ANYTHING sparkly, hair clips, sunglasses and the like as the monkeys collect them!!!

This cute little dusty pink Callistemon lives in the back yard. It such a sweet looking colour, and in many ways, better than the red ones that are so common...

Photo a Day Challenge - Day 102 Something you've found

Here we go, back to Bali, but this time, its in Nusa Dua Markets... The aim of the game here was to find a bargain, board shorts, tee-shirts and the like, and I found many. But I think the overall bargain of the trip was finding 'Bali Benny' who made you leather shoes and sandles in 24 hours! L got two pairs whilst I only got the one, but we found a bargain let me tell you!!!

Photo a Day Challenge - Day 101 Stairs

Nestled away in Hobart, and at the end of Kelly Street, historic Kelly’s Steps connect Salamanca Place to Battery Point. They were built in 1839 by Captain James Kelly, an adventurer who made a comfortable living from sealing and whaling. Kelly’s good fortune was short-lived, however, and by 1842 he was bankrupt and destitute following the death of his wife and seven of his children. After a run-in with the law over another man’s wife, he died at age 67...

Photo a Day Challenge - Day 100 Where you ate breakfast

Why at 40,000 ft of course, where else?? This series of photos is from EK001 - Dubai to London in Business; QF21 - Sydney to Tokyo Narita in Economy, and finally EK418, which is between Sydney and Auckland in Economy. It is a good representation on the differences between Qantas and Emirates Economy breakfast, but the Emirates business was a light breakfast, and the lunch that was served later in the flight was far more exquisite and plentiful!!

Photo a Day Challenge - Day 98 Younger You

I couldn't find anything as a 'younger you' in my flickr account, but I went back and found this little gem. It was when we went to Aalborg in Denmark. It was a Conference L went to and I was there in the 'Partners Program'. We went on a nature excursion, and what you are seeing is a water spring in the bogs up in the northern Jutland area, not far from Aalborg itself.

Photo a Day Challenge - Day 97 Inside your Wallet

Well, I'm not going to show you inside my wallet (it is way to full of tax receipts and the wallet itself is about to fall apart) so this is something that is STILL inside my wallet, even though I went to China in August last year!!!
